My Comics Memoir Painting about Horses at the “Equine” Exhibit, Saugerties, NY

September 2, 2017

When I was a kid, I went to a horse camp. Camp Clendenning allowed young Ohio scouts to get the horsemanship merit badge. I was all in. Many years later, as a theorist of comics memoir, I have organized my memories of that camp into a painting.

“The Horse’s Mouth” is a painting in oil on a wooden panel (3ft x 4 ft), which will appear in the Farmington Museum, New Mexico, a national juried artshow.

The initial comic sketch on which the painting is based, is an artwork unto itself, and it will appear in the Equine Exhibit at the Emerge Art Space in Saugerties, NY this fall, as well.
